“Grow Your Own” Workforce with Hometown Scholars

by | Aug 20, 2022 | Latest News

Hometown Scholars is a program from A.T. Still University (ATSU) to help Community Health Centers “grown your own” healthcare workforce. ATSU has collaborated with the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) on the Hometown Scholars program.

In the program Community Health Center leaders and staff let ATSU know whom within their communities would have a health center heart and desire to assist the underserved communities.

Early identification of Hometown Scholars candidates helps address community health center workforce needs and supports ATSU’s founding mission to serve underserved communities and vulnerable populations. A community health center leader endorsement lets ATSU know the applicant is a person who has the potential to become a compassionate, community-minded healer who any community health center would be proud to employ.
